The BRIDGE CENTRE...

is a welcoming drop-in centre for the whole community offering friendly support for all, in partnership with others, at Boulevard URC, Hyson Green.

Hyson Green is one of the 88 most deprived areas in the country - with high unemployment and poverty levels. The members of Boulevard United Reformed Church saw the need in the area around them and the Bridge Centre was the church's response: a bridge between the church and the community!

• The Bridge Centre is located in the basement of the church;



• Opened in July 1991 after three year's planning by church leaders, Bob Edson became chairman and still holds this position today;



• Boulevard URC is a church with a small membership, but every member helps with the running of the drop-in centre;



• The Bridge Centre is run by a Management Committee;



• The centre would not be able to continue without the commitment of the volunteers - the great majority of whom are members of the church.



• Boulevard URC has Sunday morning worship at 11.00 am.
  Friday morning 8.30 am - 8.55 am Communion. All welcome.
